Our ratings are based on a scale from 1 (We avoid) to 5 (Great) How we rate

Our “Planet” rating evaluates brands based on the environmental policies in their supply chains, from carbon emissions to wastewater, ingredients' impacts, product circularity, and more. Here we rate Aroma Zone “It's a Start”. These are a few factors influencing its score:

  • It uses some lower-impact ingredients including certified organic, organic, and biotechnology-derived, however it does not publish an aggregate breakdown of ingredients used.
  • There's no evidence it has initiatives to address overproduction.
  • It’s set a science based target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in both its direct operations and supply chain but there’s no evidence it is on track.
  • It uses some recycled packaging.
  • Some of its palm oil is certified by RSPO, however it does not publish an aggregate breakdown of palm oil used.

Workers’ rights are central to our “People” rating, which assesses brands’ policies and practices on everything from child labour to living wages and gender equality. Here we rate Aroma Zone “Not Good Enough”. These are a few factors influencing its score:

  • Some of its final stage is located in lower-risk countries or certified facilities, however it does not publish an aggregate breakdown of suppliers.
  • It partly traces its supply chain including the final and some of the primary production stages.
  • There’s no evidence it has a Code of Conduct.
  • There is no evidence it ensures payment of a living wage in its supply chain.

Note that the "People" rating in Good On You’s methodology is defined by labour rights and does not consider consumer health.

Brands’ animal welfare policies and, where applicable, how well they trace their animal-derived products, are the focus of our “Animals” rating. Here we rate Aroma Zone “It's a Start”. These are a few factors influencing its score:

  • It uses animal-derived ingredients in its products.
  • It claims to not test its ingredients or finished products on animals, but it is not certified.
  • It has not made any public commitments to eliminate animal-derived ingredients.

Based on all the publicly available information we’ve reviewed, we rate Aroma Zone “Not Good Enough” overall.
