Our “Planet” rating evaluates brands based on the environmental policies in their supply chains, from carbon emissions to wastewater, ingredients' impacts, product circularity, and more. Here we rate MIKOA Essentials “It's a Start”. These are a few factors influencing its score:

• There’s no evidence it uses any lower-impact ingredients.
• Its products are made in limited production runs.
• Its product packaging is recyclable.
• It manufactures its products closer to home to reduce the climate impact of long-distance shipping.
• It could be using palm oil, but it has not disclosed any information regarding responsible sourcing that mitigates environmental impacts.
