Overall rating: Not good enough

Our ratings are based on a scale from 1 (We avoid) to 5 (Great) How we rate

Our “Planet” rating evaluates brands based on the environmental policies in their supply chains, from carbon emissions to wastewater, ingredients' impacts, product circularity, and more. Here we rate NEOM “It's a Start”. These are a few factors influencing its score:

It uses some lower-impact ingredients including upcycled/recycled and organic, but it does not publish an aggregate breakdown of ingredients used.

It uses renewable energy in its direct operations (such as stores or offices) but not in its supply chain.

There’s no evidence it’s taking meaningful action to reduce water use.

Its product packaging is recyclable.

Some of its palm oil is certified by RSPO, however it does not publish an aggregate breakdown of palm oil used.

Workers’ rights are central to our “People” rating, which assesses brands’ policies and practices on everything from child labour to living wages and gender equality. Here we rate NEOM “Not Good Enough”. These are a few factors influencing its score:

It doesn’t disclose where its final production stage occurs.

It has made a general human rights statement on mica, but has no formal policy.

It claims it has a Code of Conduct but does not publicly disclose it.

It audits some of its supply chain including all of the final production stage.

There’s no evidence it ensures workers are paid living wages in its supply chain.

Note that the "People" rating in Good On You’s methodology is defined by labour rights and does not consider consumer health.

Brands’ animal welfare policies and, where applicable, how well they trace their animal-derived products, are the focus of our “Animals” rating. Here we rate NEOM “Not Good Enough”. These are a few factors influencing its score:

It uses animal-derived ingredients in its products.

It claims to not test its ingredients or finished products on animals, but it is not certified.

It has not made any public commitments to eliminate animal-derived ingredients.

Based on all the publicly available information we’ve reviewed, we rate NEOM “Not Good Enough” overall.
