Our “Planet” rating evaluates brands based on the environmental policies in their supply chains, from carbon emissions to wastewater, ingredients' impacts, product circularity, and more. Here we rate Pink Gellac “It's a Start”. These are a few factors influencing its score:

• There’s no evidence it uses any lower-impact ingredients.
• It minimises its product packaging and publicly discloses results.
• To reduce its climate impacts, it uses renewable energy in its supply chain.
• It has no policy to evaluate the biodegradability and environmental toxicity of its ingredients.
• It could be using palm oil, but it has not disclosed any information regarding responsible sourcing that mitigates environmental impacts.

• Much of its final stage is located in lower-risk countries or certified facilities, however it does not publish an aggregate breakdown of suppliers.

• There’s no evidence it ensures workers are paid living wages in its supply chain.
