Our ratings are based on a scale from 1 (We avoid) to 5 (Great) How we rate

Our “Planet” rating evaluates brands based on the environmental policies in their supply chains, from carbon emissions to wastewater, ingredients' impacts, product circularity, and more. Here we rate Sans Savon “Good”. These are a few factors influencing its score:

  • It uses some lower-impact ingredients including upcycled ingredients, however it does not publish an aggregate breakdown of ingredients used.
  • It manufactures its products closer to home to reduce the climate impact of long-distance shipping.
  • It uses recycled packaging
  • Its products are made in limited production runs.
  • All of its palm oil is RSPO-certified.

Workers’ rights are central to our “People” rating, which assesses brands’ policies and practices on everything from child labour to living wages and gender equality. Here we rate Sans Savon “It's a Start”. These are a few factors influencing its score:

  • Its final production stage happens in Canada, a low risk country for labour abuse.
  • There’s no evidence it has a Code of Conduct.
  • There’s no evidence it audits its suppliers.
  • There’s no evidence it ensures workers are paid living wages in its supply chain.

Note that the "People" rating in Good On You’s methodology is defined by labour rights and does not consider consumer health.

Brands’ animal welfare policies and, where applicable, how well they trace their animal-derived products, are the focus of our “Animals” rating. Here we rate Sans Savon “Good”.

  • It states that its entire product range is vegan.
  • It claims to not test its ingredients or finished products on animals, but it is not certified.
