Gildan's environment rating is 'not good enough'. It uses some eco-friendly materials including recycled materials. It has set a target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions generated from its own operations but not its supply chain. There is no evidence it has a policy to protect biodiversity in its supply chain. It has eliminated some hazardous chemicals from its supply chain but has not set a time bound target to eliminate all hazardous chemicals.

Its labour rating is 'good'. Its supply chain auditing is accredited with FLA Workplace Code of Conduct and applies to all of the final stage of production. It received a score of 61-70% in the 2021 Fashion Transparency Index. It implements practices to encourage diversity and inclusion in its direct operations and some of its supply chain. It has a project to improve wages in some of its supply chain. It discloses policies and safeguards to protect suppliers and workers in its supply chain from the impacts of COVID-19.
